| Important Note to Parents: Animals are inherently unpredictable and children MUST observe certain rules when visiting us. This is for their safety. We can't allow either your children or our animals to be hurt. We think part of the educational experience we provide is teaching children how to behave safely around animals. | ||||||||||||||

DELILAH'S RULES FOR VISITING THE HERD Delilah is our guard donkey, So Everyone Has to Do What She Says! *Most of our animals are very friendly, but real animals aren't like the characters in movies and fairy tales. Animals are unpredictable by nature and get frightened easily. Follow these rules and you'll be safe. * Walk slowly and be quiet at all times. Hold feed in your hand and usually the goats will come to you! * Do NOT put your fingers or hand into any animal's mouth. Goats don't have top front teeth, but they do have sharp molars in the back. *Don't hit, chase or kick the goats. That's mean. *Don't give the goats anything other than goat feed or goat treats that we give you.. *Don't open any gates unless asked to do so, and don't go into any pasture without permission. *Never stand behind a horse, donkey, mule or alpaca. They could kick (at a fly or anything) and hurt you very badly. *Don't try to pick the goats up without permission. * Do what the humans ask you without fussing. |
