GODEY'S FASHION PLATES JUNE & JULY 1867

Skirts have already transitioned from the bell-shaped hoop to the elliptical hoop, with increased fullness and length at the back. Note also the draped overskirts and hairstyles with heavy buns at the back, presaging the styles of  the 1870s. The waist is still a little short at this time.

Note the little boy in skirts playing with his wagon. Are there any reenactors out there brave enough to put their little boys in kilts or aprons?  :)
