Knitting is an ancient method of making garments. Garments ranging from heavy sweaters to
delicate baby clothes can be knitted, and some laces can be knitted as well.

Knitting is made using knitting
needles (also called pins.) Regular
knitting needles have caps on one end.
Double-pointed needles are pointed on
both ends. Knitting needles range from

Knitting is usually easy to recognize. One side of the knitting will have the knit stitch (below
left) and the other will usually show the purl side (below right).
