CROCHET is one of the most popular needlecrafts and is relatively easy
to learn.

Crochet is made with a
crochet hook and thread or yarn. Specialized
forms of crochet include Irish crochet and filet crochet.
Crochet is made by drawing loops of
thread through other loops using a
hook. Hooks range in size from the tiny
size 14 (hook on the far left) on up to
large rug hooks.   The doily at the top
of the picture above and the pineapple
doily (right) were made by relatives.
Filet crochet (above) uses a
series of blocks and spaces to
make patterns and pictures.

Irish crochet (right) is usually
associated with 3-dimensional
roses and other motifs.
